SP1 Beta的内部编译版本号将选定为Windows 7 SP1 Build 6.1.7601.16560.win7sp1_beta.100524-1800。
根据Windows 7 SP1 Build 16560的版本号，它编译于5月24日18:00。不久之前，Windows 7 SP1 16556 v.172泄露到网上，随后俄罗斯网站Wzor表示，SP1已经升级到了Build 6.1.7601.16559。如今，Wzor称，6.1.7601.16560.win7sp1_beta.100524-1800极有可能被选定为官 方Windows 7 SP1 Beta。
回顾一下微软公开宣布的Win7 SP1新增功能，对于Windows Server 2008 R2来说，SP1将引入两个最新的桌面虚拟化功能：Microsoft RemoteFX和动态内存（Dynamic Memory）。Windows 7 SP1还将包括升级版的远程桌面（Remote Desktop）客户端，升级版远程桌面客户端主要添加了Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1中将引入的RemoteFX功能。
